Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a clean and organized environment. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for providing daily care, exercise, and enrichment activities for our boarding guests, as well as ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and attention to boarding dogs and cats including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed.
- Monitor pets for signs of illness, injury, or behavior changes and report any concerns to management or veterinary staff.
- Supervise individual exercise sessions for dogs in our outdoor play areas.
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, play areas, and common areas according to established protocols and standards.
- Launder bedding, toys, and other pet belongings as needed to maintain cleanliness and comfort.
- Assist with bathing, grooming, and nail trimming services for boarding pets as requested.
- Maintain accurate records of pet care activities, medications, and special instructions provided by pet owners.
- Assist with customer check-ins and check-outs, providing friendly and informative customer service.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pet's well-being, behavior, and any special requests or concerns.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting preferred but not required.
- Genuine love and compassion for animals with a desire to provide excellent care.
- Ability to handle dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments safely and with confidence.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work in high pace environment with effective time-management skills
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
